In a surprise twist, X (formerly Twitter) has announced that it will permanently block Pride-related content effective immediately, citing that protecting children is “first and foremost.” This decision has sparked controversy around the world and is causing heated debate about the platform and its handling of issues surrounding

The decision to block Pride content was officially justified by the platform as a measure to protect minors. A spokesperson for X explained that “the safety and well-being of children is our top priority on the platform” and that certain content deemed inappropriate for young users was censored for this reason.
“We must ensure that any content that could potentially be harmful is either restricted or removed from the platform,” the statement said. “Pride content has been identified as potentially harmful to underage users due to its nudity and depiction of sexual orientation.”
