WTA Finals: Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff advance to semi-finals
Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff moved into the semi-finals of the WTA Finals in Cancun on Friday (local time). A special match awaits the Mexican tennis fans in the semi-finals.
Iga Swiatek continues to be in impressive form at the WTA Finals. The four-time Grand Slam winner from Poland also won her third group match in Cancun and again remained without losing a set. The world number two gave the Tunisian Ons Jabeur no chance with a 6:1 and 6:2 win on Friday (local time).
In the semi-finals Swiatek will now face Aryna Sabalenka, who qualified for the semi-finals with a narrow win over Elena Rybakina . If Sabalenka wins the duel against Swiatek, she would end the year as world number one. However, if the Pole were to triumph at the WTA Finals, she would receive this honor
