Świątek’s Rollercoaster of Emotions – But Sabalenka’s 51-Minute Demolition Stole the Show

After the thrilling battle between Iga Świątek and Mirra Andreeva, it was time for the second WTA 1000 semifinal in Indian Wells. This match featured two recent Australian Open champions—Aryna Sabalenka and Madison Keys. Their showdown in this year’s Melbourne final was an unforgettable thriller, ending with an epic victory for the American. However, this time, the Belarusian star delivered a crushing response. Sabalenka won 11 consecutive games to start the match and ultimately dominated with a stunning 6-0, 6-1 win in just 51 minutes. She will now face Mirra Andreeva in the final.

The Indian Wells WTA 1000 semifinals were highly anticipated, as they featured the top four players in the Race rankings—those who have been performing best this season. The first semifinal lived up to expectations, bringing plenty of drama. Świątek was seeking revenge against Andreeva after her recent loss in Dubai. This time, the Polish star put up a stronger fight against the young Russian, but once again, she fell short. The final score: 6-7(1), 6-1, 3-6. Świątek showed resilience in the third set, fighting back from 1-4, but the 17-year-old secured her 11th consecutive victory.

Then came the much-anticipated rematch of this year’s Australian Open final. Sabalenka had fallen short in Melbourne, missing out on her third consecutive title when Keys edged her out 7-5 in the deciding set. Determined to avenge that heartbreaking loss and end Keys’ 16-match winning streak, Sabalenka took the court with a fierce intensity. What followed was a complete demolition—one of the most dominant performances of the season.

From the very first game, Sabalenka overwhelmed Keys with powerful shots, aggressive returns, and relentless pressure. She raced through the first set 6-0, leaving Keys with no answers. The American finally got on the board at 0-5 in the second set, but it was too little, too late. Sabalenka sealed the victory in just 51 minutes, making an emphatic statement ahead of the final.
