Simone Biles has no problem with being called the G.O.A.T.

In an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 11-time Olympic medalist shared that the superlative provokes an array of emotions from fans and haters — and she wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I think it’s funny to play off, obviously all of my fans and people have embraced, loved and supported me throughout my journey,” Biles, 27, told Fallon. “But also the haters, because there’s always the comments like, ‘Stop calling her the G.O.A.T. She’s not the G.O.A.T.’ So it’s like it makes people happy and then it just pisses people off.”

During her spot on the late-night talk show on Wednesday, Sept. 4, the gymnast donned a brown pantsuit with a neckline that showed off her diamond-encrusted G.O.A.T. necklace — an accessory she first debuted after winning gold in the all-around final at the Paris Olympics.

After the competition, Biles spoke about wearing the piece — which was made by Janet Heller Fine Jewelry and features 546 diamonds — and what it means to be considered the greatest of all time.

“At the end of the day, it is crazy that I’m in the conversation of greatest of all time athletes, because I still think I’m Simone Biles from Spring, Texas, that loves to flip,” she told reporters, including PEOPLE, at the time.

On Fallon Wednesday, the most decorated female gymnast of all time further reflected on the sparkly nature of the nickname, but said she hopes her legacy outshines her accomplishments.

“I mean, I feel like throughout gymnastics as long as I’m inspiring the next generation and having fun and just making sure that it’s not all about winning but still putting a good foot forward even when it doesn’t go your way, I think that’s what I would want it to be,” Biles said.
