Prince Harry ācrossed a lineā with Queen Camilla comments in his tell-all memoir Spare
In his book, Prince Harry didnāt hold back when discussing his father King Charlesā wife, Queen Camilla.
Charles and Camilla married in 2005, eight years after the death of Harryās mother Princess Diana. Charles and Diana had split earlier in 1992.
His criticism of Queen Camilla was regarded as having crossed a line.
In his memoir Spare, Harry wrote about Charles marrying Camilla: āDespite Willy [Prince William] and me urging him not to, Pa was going ahead. We pumped his hand, wished him well. No hard feelings.
āWe recognised that he was finally going to be with the woman he loved, the woman heād always loved.ā
Harry continued: āI had complex feelings about gaining a step parent who, I believed, had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar.
āIn a funny way I even wanted Camilla to be happy. Maybe sheād be less dangerous if she was happy?ā
The royal family remained silent on the comments and Harryās memoir in general.
Now, two years on, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams has weighed in on the impact of Harryās words.
He told Royal Insider: āThings have not settled down since his allegations in the ill-advised memoir and in interviews promoting it deepened the rift in the royal family and caused the Sussexes to be evicted from Frogmore Cottage.
