Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes sends prayers to former teammate Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill after gruesome ‘Monday Night Football’ injury

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes immediately took to X on Monday night, sending prayers to his former teammate after a scary injury.

Tyreek Hill injured his left leg in the third quarter against the New York Jets, with the Miami Dolphins receiver being taken off in a cart. Hills’ left leg was bent awkwardly while he was being tackled by Malachi Moore.

“Prayers up man…..🙏🏽🙏🏽,” Mahomes poste

The receiver waved to the crowd as he was taken off the field. Miami announced shortly after that he was “ruled out with a knee injury,” and was “taken to a local hospital for imaging, evaluation, and observation.”

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport followed it up by reporting that the Dolphins fear Hill dislocated his knee, which could ultimately end up being “far worse” because it “often comes with multiple ligament tears.”

Tyreek Hill’s Injury Greatly Impacts Latest Trade Buzz
With the Miami Dolphins having a winless record through the first three games of the 2025 season, many thought that star wide receiver Tyreek Hill might look to be moved. So alas, the trade buzz began.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter weighed in on this during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this season.

“I don’t think the Dolphins are thinking of trading Tyreek Hill now, but if the season continues to go this way, obviously, you’d have to think that all options would be on the table at that point in time,” he explained. “They’re trying to turn things around. It’s one game on the road in Indianapolis against a Colts team that hadn’t won an opener in almost 4,400 days that came in inspired with Jim Irsay being inducted into the Ring of Honor…but the Dolphins still think they have a good team. It’s up to them to go out and prove it. So they’re not going to trade away Tyreek Hill now. If they have more games like that and the losses start piling up, I think all of us, logically, would have to think at that point in time, you start looking to the future. But they’re not there right now in Week 1.”
