Novak Djokovic backed initiative provides free legal support to players facing doping ban
Tennis sensation Novak Djokovic’s Professional Tennis Players Association has recently revealed a significant initiative aimed at supporting the players who are facing the doping bans.
Tennis sensation Novak Djokovic’s Professional Tennis Players Association has recently revealed a significant initiative aimed at supporting the players who are facing the doping bans. This development comes as a part of the ACE Program, which will offer pro-bono legal assistance to tennis players. This new program is designed to ensure that all the players have equitable access to high-quality legal expertise, regardless of their financial situation.
PTPA was co-founded by Serbian ace Novak Djokovic in 2020
It’s worth mentioning that PTPA was co-founded by Serbian ace Novak Djokovic and Vasek Pospisil back in 2000 with the aim to support and protect players’ interests in the game. However, this organisation has faced many challenges due to rules and regulations that hinder players from joining the union. In reply to that, the PTPA has adapted its approach to focus on providing essential resources and support for players dealing with integrity.
Meanwhile, this program has been led by Tara Moore, who is a former British player with self-experience of doping allegations. She was banned for 19 months after testing positive for nandrolone metabolites and boldenone, substances that had been in her body through contaminated meat.

“All players are entitled to due process; financial constraints or a lack of resources should never stand in the way of their rights. The fight to prove my innocence left me with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and overwhelming emotional distress. My hope is that the PTPA ACE Program and these incredible legal teams will ensure that no player has to face these challenges alone, especially in cases involving integrity issues. Every player deserves the chance to defend themselves without fear of financial or emotional ruin,” said ITIA CEO Karen
