Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs went from a great team to a dynastic one when they won their second straight Super Bowl championship and their third in the past five years.
Granted, they haven’t been dominant in any of those Super Bowl wins, as they have had to overcome 10-point deficits in each of them. But in doing so, they and their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, have developed an aura of inevitability, if not an aura of invisibility.
With just about their entire core from last season, sans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed, instant, the Chiefs are going for a third straight Super Bowl victory, something that no team has ever achieved.

As Olsen pointed out, the Chiefs have been able to stay on top of the NFL the last two seasons despite many young players on defense and an unproven, makeshift crew at wide receiver.
When they traded star wideout Tyreek Hill two years ago, many felt it was a mistake. But they have won it all both years since, and it has only accentuated the fact that Mahomes is the best player in football and an all-time great at just the age of 28.
