On Thursday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex—who relocated to Montecito, California after taking a step back from the royal family—released an emotional statement on their website, extending their sympathies and sharing a number of resources. The couple has also reportedly opened up their Montecito home to friends and family displaced by the fires
The message read, “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more—affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued.”
