Iga Świątek zupełnie rozkleiła się przed ostatnią piłką. Dramatyczny koniec meczu w WTA Finals
Nieudany debiut Igi Świątek w turnieju WTA Finals w Guadalajarze. Polska tenisistka przegrała z Marią Sakkari w niecałe 1,5 godziny 2:6, 4:6. Rywalka doprowadzała Igę do irytacji, złości a na samym końcu – do płaczu.

Iga Świątek jak dotąd mierzyła się dwukrotnie z Marią Sakkari. Oba pojedynki zakończyły się wygraną Greczynki – odpowiednio 4:6, 4:6 w ćwierćfinale Rolanda Garrosa oraz 4:6, 5:7 na tym samym etapie turnieju WTA w Ostrawie. Sakkari ma za sobą bardzo dobry sezon, o czym świadczy szóste miejsce w światowym rankingu WTA. Greczynka dotarła do półfinału US Open i Rolanda Garrosa, a do tego wygrała wspomniany turniej w Ostrawie, gdzie jej rywalką w finale była Anett Kontaveit. Świątek czekało więc trudne zadanie, ale Polka miała rachunki do wyrównania.
