Dr. Matthew Strickland, a medical oncologist at Mass General Hospital, discusses the likely goals of adjuvant chemotherapy for Kate, Princess of Wales. In a statement, she described the treatment as “preventative chemotherapy” and Strickland said that likely means a treatment intended to clear out any cancer cells that may have been left behind after surgery.
