Serena Williams’ former coach totally disagrees with what many people are telling Coco Gauff to do right now

Coco Gauff is going for glory at the Wuhan Open and enjoyed a brilliant win in her first match at the tournament.

Gauff is facing constant battles with her game at the moment, but she remains one of the brightest talents in world sport.

Two-time Grand Slam champion Gauff can make history at Wuhan this week and faces Chinese player Zhang Shuai in the last 16 of the tournament.

Gauff has been working on her serve at this event, and there is another aspect of her game that some believe she needs to work on as the year approaches the final stages.

However, one renowned former coach doesn’t think any drastic changes need to be made at

Rick Macci totally disagrees with what people are telling Coco Gauff now
So much has been made about the player’s serve that now she’s gone away and worked on it, some are picking fault with Gauff’s forehand, too.

It sounds crazy to think that so many so-called experts can dissect the game with two major titles under her name, but then this is an elite sport.

Macci coached some of the game’s top players, most notably Serena Williams, and he thinks any talk of Gauff tweaking her forehand right now is nonsense.

He said on X: “People are chirping for Coco to shut it down. I disagree totally with that. In December, she can do the forehand fix. Right now, her serve has technically changed a lot in combat. Emotionally, she is cut from a different cloth. She can handle brutal defeats. She is 21 and just begun.”
