Hawley went on a tirade in a congressional hearing that was so off the wall, foam was building on his lips. Even Republican Senator Rand Paul had to interrupt him and tell him to tone it down.

Senator Hawley asked a question about the Somali fraud in Minnesota, and immediately interrupted the answer by Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison.

Hawley: Don’t talk over me… It’s my hearing, pal.

Ellison just took a sip of water, and shook his head.

Ellison: Don’t call me pal. I’m not your pal.

Hawley stammered.

Hawley: Well, I should call you prisoner because you oughta be in jail.

Ellison smirked at the random threat.

Ellison: Well, see what you can do about it!

Hawley: Where did the fraudulent money go? We know…

Ellison: Yes. Because we led the investigation.

Hawley: Why did you help them?

Ellison: This is theatre. It’s completely untrue. It’s a lie.

Hawley: They gave you $10,000.

Ellison: No, that’s a lie.

Hawley: Oh, no…

Ellison: For the record, he’s lying, and it’s all on record.

Hawley tried to slip in one more swipe before his time expired.

Hawley: You should resign.

Ellison got in the last word.

Ellison: I was thinking the same about you. After this parade of misrepresentation, I should be shamed out of representation.
