FORGIVE ME.. Meghan Sends Apology To Charlse As She Now Wants To Return To UK With Harry
The head of Prince Harry’s Invictus Games has shared an interesting anecdote about how to properly address Meghan Markle, revealing a departure from the traditional titles one might expect for a former senior royal.
Scott Moore has been appointed as the new CEO of the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025, tasked with overseeing the inaugural winter edition of the event. In a column by Richard Eden for the Daily Mail, Moore recounted his curiosity about the appropriate way to greet the couple upon their arrival, stating, “I made sure to inquire how to address them.”
In a succinct three-word directive, he was informed that simply using “‘Ma’am’ is fine.” For the Duke of Sussex, a straightforward “Sir” would suffice. Typically, male members of the royal family are addressed as ‘Your Royal Highness’ initially and then ‘Sir,’ while female members receive ‘Your Royal Highness’ followed by ‘Ma’am.’
Since stepping back from their royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have lost their HRH titles, meaning they can no longer be addressed as Your Royal Highness. However, they retain their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
This shift in how they are addressed starkly contrasts with Harry’s earlier preference in 2020, when he requested to be simply called Harry during a tourism conference in Edinburgh. The event’s host, Ayesha Hazarika, relayed his wishes to the audience, saying, “He’s made it clear that we are all just to call him Harry.”
