Did Taylor Swift Endorse Donald Trump? No, But He Seems to Think So
Did Taylor Swift endorse Donald Trump for the presidency in the 2024 election? Only in his wildest dreams. Of course, the Republican candidate wants you to think she has, according to a post he made on his Truth Social platform Sunday, chockablock with AI-generated images and false hope for the “unusually beautiful” singer’s support.
“I accept!” Trump, who has been impeached twice and is a convicted felon, wrote alongside an AI-generated image of Swift as Uncle Sam with the message “I want YOU to vote for Donald Trump” and a collage of images of young women wearing “Swifties for Trump” tees. Notably, none of those young women is Taylor Swift. Also notably, one of the four headlines included in Trump’s post is labeled in all-caps, bright-red text as satire.
The X account @amuse, whose bio on the site proclaims allegiance to both the Trump/Vance ticket and conservative headlines, originally shared the post with the messaging, “SHOCK: After the cancellation of the Taylor Swift concert being targeted by ISIS, Swifties have determined they want a strong leader in the White House. The Swifties For Trump movement is real!” The headline refers to Swift’s recently canceled Eras Tour shows in Vienna, where law enforcement discovered a plan to attack the sold-out concert. The suspects in the attack had reportedly pledged allegiance to the Islamic State online
